Enjoy Your Stay In
Having completed a course in Architecture, I knew I was not cut out for a 9-5 job. I wanted to do something on my own. What helped immensely was that our family was in the business of renting and investing in properties. While it would have been easy to follow in their footsteps and branch out in our business, I decided to buy a piece of property and convert it into a hostel.
The area I identified was Pai, Thailand. Being an avid traveler myself, I have undertaken several hiking trips into Thailand and this island has been a magnet for hippies, backpackers, and students looking to travel on a low-budget. The main attraction has always been the company of the hill-tribes on the hiking trails.
The Hostel which I have chosen to call Nuka is a 150-bed Hostel in a central location within the island. I have constructed this place as a no-frills hostel but you will find everything you need when you are traveling. When I designed the hostel, I was very keen that
A balance of small rooms as against maximizing space
provide a certain level of comfort
there should be public areas allowing people to mingle and share stories and experiences.
After a year’s work, I could see my dream becoming a reality. Since then, Nuka has become the most preferred place to stay for people who go through Pai almost every day. We offer some of the best facilities possible for a hostel. While we have a website through which you can book our facilities, we have walk-ins all the time and we are at fullcapacity.
While we have our challenges of keeping the premise clean, I believe it is an on-going process where we are learning how to be the best hostel in the area. With our commitment to provide the best, we will soon be branching into other areas in Thailand.
